Spring Evaluation
All students must be evaluated at the end of the academic year with a Spring Evaluation completed by their faculty advisor. Ideally, the student and his or her advisor should meet to discuss the student's progress throughout the past year.
Process and Timeline
Early May: Graduate Coordinator releases online spring evals to students. Students typically have 2-3 weeks to complete the self-evaluation.
Mid-May: Once the student completes their self-evaluation, the evaluation is routed to their advisor(s) or committee members. For students who have advanced to candidacy, at least three members of the committee total should also review and sign the spring evaluation.
Late-May: Upon the initial completion of the evaluations by each student and required faculty members, each student’s progress will be evaluated at or before the annual spring faculty meeting.
Mid-June: After the annual spring faculty meeting, the "program comments" section of the evaluation is updated and re-routed to the students to comment on and sign the evaluation before it is routed to the GEPA.
Students will not be eligible to register for classes the following year until their evaluations have been completed and submitted to GEPA.
