The primary aim of my lab is to understand the cortical basis of behavior, with an emphasis on species-typical natural behaviors. Our research questions range across the continuum of sensory to motor processes that occur during behavior. Current work investigates sensory recognition and categorization, sensory-motor interactions and decision-making. Work in my lab integrates a range of behavioral studies - including both field and laboratory experiments - with neural techniques, such as single-unit neurophysiology.

Our work emphasizes species-typical behaviors and incorporates a range of experimental techniques at both the behavioral and neural levels of the system.
