Summer employment and additional academic year appointments

Graduate students may request and be assigned TA appointments for Summer Session, which pay $3,522.00 per course (at 50% time). Occasionally, there are also opportunities for additional 25% TA appointments during the academic year to meet the department’s teaching assistant needs.

Anderson Travel/Research Award

Three times a year, the Graduate Coordinator will issue a call for applications for the Anderson Travel and Research Fund, to support travel to present a research work at a scholarly conference or to conduct research. These awards are possible due to a generous gift from Professor Emeritus Norman Anderson.
Those without outside grant funding, those who have received minimally from the fund in the past, and those with seniority are given preference. The size of the award varies with available funding but awards in the $700 range are typical.
