The following list represents some of the external support opportunities available to students within our department, although not all students will be eligible for every award. If you would like to add any awards to this list, please email the Graduate Coordinator.

First two years

• Otto Klineberg Intercultural and International Relations Award (due in February, $1,000)

• * San Diego Association for Women in Science Scholarship Program (due in spring, $1,125)
• APF/COGDOP Graduate Research Scholarships (due in June, $1,000-$5,000)
• Esther Katz Rosen Fund Grants (due in March, for work on gifted children/youth, $39,000)
• Visionary Fund (due April 1, $20,000)
• David H. and Beverly A. Barlow Grant (due September, for understanding and fostering the connection between behavior and health, $7,500)
• Bruce and Jane Walsh Grant in Memory of John Holland (due September, studying influences on work behavior and health, $19,000)
• Joseph B. Gittler Award (due June, provides $3,500 for scholarly contributions to the philosophical foundations of psychological knowledge, post-doctoral)

• National Academy of Education Spencer Dissertation Fellowship (due in October, $27,500)
• * AAUW American Dissertation Fellowship (due in November, $25,000)
• Henry P. David Grant for Research and International Travel in Human Reproductive Behavior and Population Studies (due in February, $1500)
• CABE Teaching Resources Award (due in May, for members of the APA Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges or APA members whose primary teaching responsibility is at the baccalaureate level, $250)
• F. J. McGuigan Dissertation Award (due in June, $2,000)
