Course and Professor Evaluations
Teaching and Course Evaluations
Teaching effectiveness is an important criterion used in hiring/rehiring instructors at all levels. For permanent faculty, teaching effectiveness must also be addressed in each merit review.
CAPE (Course & Professor Evaluation) is a campus service that surveys undergraduate students at the end of every quarter and publishes its findings. Students are sent an e-mail with a link to the evaluation for each class in which they are enrolled. The evaluations are available for students to complete starting at the beginning of Week 9 until the start of the first final. The evaluation summaries are available on the CAPE website.
Graduate Course Evaluations: At the end of each quarter, graduate students are sent an e-mail with a link to the course evaluation form for each graduate course in which they are enrolled.
